National Security

The consequences of failure in Iraq and Afghanistan are enormous for our national security, for the Middle East, and for the entire world. The progress made to date is significant, but potentially reversible. More progress needs to be made on the political front to end the War on Terror, and bring America’s troops home safely.

First and foremost, I stand behind America’s military men and women both at home and abroad in the War on Terror.

Operation Iraq Freedom ended in August 2010. As we transition to a new stage in this effort, I am committed to ensuring that our troops have the resources they need.

Throughout this transition and beyond, we must hold the Iraqi government and its people accountable for restoring stability to their nation and bring our troops home as soon as possible.
