Second Amendment

Our nation was founded upon the ideals of democracy, individual’s rights and civil liberties. The Second Amendment to the Constitution reads, “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” As a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association, I believe this language protects to rights of all law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms.

Efforts by Washington Democrats to infringe on Second Amendment rights often are under the guise of fighting crime. These efforts should be directly squarely at criminals and assisting law enforcement, not on impeding the rights of law-abiding gun owners.

I will continue fighting to protect our Second Amendment rights.
